Janmashtami

Festivals are distinguished by vibrant colors, heartfelt prayers, and cherished rituals. In celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth, Janmashtami was joyously observed with full enthusiasm at The Tribune School, Chandigarh, on August 24, 2024.
The students of Classes I and II dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha and performed beautifully to devotional songs. The celebration was truly amazing, honoring traditions in a memorable way. The best performers were awarded certificates and a trophy by the honorable Principal, Ms. Rani Poddar.
Teachers also took the opportunity to educate the children about the significance of the festival. The event concluded with words of appreciation from the Principal, leaving everyone with a sense of fulfilment and joy.
SWAROTSAV 2024
 
The Tribune School, Chandigarh, proudly hosted SWAROTSAV 2024, on August 23, 2024, an Inter-School singing competition that brought together young talent from across the region to celebrate the divine message of Lord Sri Krishna and the patriotic spirit of our nation, Bharat.
The event, held at The Tribune School premises, saw enthusiastic participation from several esteemed schools. Students competed in two categories: Patriotic Group Song and Solo Krishna Bhajan. The performances were a vibrant display of musical talent, devotion, and love for the country.
The competition was judged by a panel of eminent personalities from the field of music. The event culminated in a grand prize distribution ceremony, where the coveted SWAROTSAV 2024 Running Trophy was awarded to St. Joseph sector 44, Chandigarh. Additionally, first, second, and third prizes were given to St. Joseph sector 44 C, Bhavan Vidyalya sector 27, AKSIPs sector 41, Chandigarh (Group category) and St. Joseph sector 44, Dev Samaj sector 21, St. Soldiers sector 28 (Solo category), respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Rani Poddar, Principal of The Tribune School, said, “SWAROTSAV 2024 is not just a competition; it is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Bharat and the divine teachings of Lord Sri Krishna.”
The Tribune School’s own students gave a special performance to add to the festivities, although they did not compete. The event was a resounding success, bringing together schools and communities in a shared celebration of music, culture, and national pride.

The 78th Independence Day

The Tribune School celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The event saw active participation from the school teachers .The National Flag was unfurled by the Principal, Ms. Rani Poddar, accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem.
In her address, Ms. Rani Poddar inspired the audience by emphasizing the importance of nationalism and patriotism, leaving a lasting impact on all present. The National Song, “Vande Mataram,” added a special touch to the ceremony, captivating everyone in attendance.
A Nukkad Natak on ‘Azadi’ was presented under the mentorship of Ms. Ridhi and Ms. Mamta, showcasing the journey of India’s freedom struggle. This was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance titled ‘Bharat Ki Beti,’ which enthralled the audience.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. As the ceremony ended, sweets were distributed among the students, marking the end of a day filled with joy and a renewed sense of love and respect for our nation.

Felicitation Ceremony

The Tribune School celebrated its ‘Felicitation Ceremony’ in the school premises. Justice S.S.Sodhi, his wife Mrs. Bonny Sodhi, member of the school management committee -Mrs Chand Nehru were the chief guest of the event. Students were felicitated with the badge of honour for the post of head boy (Gursehaj) and head girl (Ramneet). The newly elected student council members took an oath to faithfully work for the school. Prizes were distributed to the achievers in the field of academics, sports, art, music and dance. Annual Report was shared stating the progress of the school in various fields. Many fervent performances were showcased by the students of Yoga and Music Department. A special Odissi dance was showcased by the students under the guidance of Mr. Sayan Mukherjee. The chief guest of the occassion Justice S.S Sodhi presented the scholarships to the deserving students. Mrs Chand Nehru motivated the students by guiding them to work with commitment and care for allround growth. Discipline and Passion to learn should be the key to success. Congratulating the students for their achievements , the Principal of the school Mrs Rani Poddar encouraged them to raise the flag of The Tribune School to a greater height.

Graduation ceremony for its UKG students

The Tribune School hosted a joyous and memorable graduation ceremony for its UKG students, accompanied by delightful performances and inspiring speeches. The event took place on May 11, 2024 in the school’s premises, where proud parents, teachers, and guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of the young graduates. The highlight of the event was the commendable performance by the UKG students, who showcased their talents through an adorable dance presentation, capturing the hearts of everyone present. The Music Department and School Choir further enriched the occasion with their melodious renditions, adding a harmonious touch to the festivities. The Principal, Mrs. Rani Poddar, delivered an encouraging address, highlighting the accomplishments of the graduating class and expressing gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support throughout the academic journey. The ceremony was graced with the presence of esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs Chand Nehru who motivated them to pursue excellence in all their future endeavours. Furthermore, the event featured the presentation of awards to deserving students for their outstanding performance and achievements during the academic year. The awards ceremony was a testament to the school’s commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent.

Ram Navami Special Assembly 
 
The Tribune School celebrated Ram Navami with great fervor and devotion during a special assembly conducted by the students of class 9B. The event saw enthusiastic performances of bhajans dedicated to Lord Ram, beautifully rendered by the Music department and students, which resonated throughout the campus, creating an atmosphere of peace and reverence.
In a heartfelt display of commitment to moral values and virtues, the students took a pledge to emulate the noble characteristics of Lord Ram, promising to incorporate his ideals of duty, courage, and righteousness into their daily lives. This pledge marks a significant commitment by the young minds to uphold and propagate the virtues that Lord Ram symbolizes.

Vaisakhi Celebrations

The Tribune School enthusiastically celebrated the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi, marking the event with vibrant performances and cultural reverence. Organized collaboratively by the Punjabi Department and the Music Department, the festivities began with a soulful rendition of a ‘Shabad’ during the morning assembly, setting a serene tone for the day.
Students across various grades participated with great zeal, showcasing their talents in traditional Punjabi dance and music. The highlight of the celebration was a mesmerizing dance performance by the students, illustrating the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Additionally, the assembly featured a stirring Punjabi song that captivated the audience, performed with passion by the school’s young and talented musicians.
Welcome Assembly for New Academic Session 2024-25
 
The Tribune School, Chandigarh commenced its new academic session with an electrifying Welcome Assembly, organized jointly by the English and the Music department, on April 08, 2024. The school buzzed with excitement as students were greeted with vibrant welcome boards crafted by the Art department, adding a splash of color and warmth to the environment.
Principal Mrs. Rani Poddar graced the assembly with her presence and delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of consistency in studies, regularity,
discipline and commitment to learning .Her words resonated with the entire school community, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, class teachers welcomed their respective students with a traditional Tilak ceremony, symbolizing auspicious beginnings and fostering a sense of belongingness among the students.
The assembly not only marked the beginning of a new academic journey but also celebrated the spirit of unity and camaraderie that defines The Tribune School.
As the school gears up for another year of growth and achievements, the administration, faculty, and students alike are poised to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, guided by the values of excellence, integrity, and community.
Birth anniversary of the Founder of The Tribune Trust Late Sardar Dyal Singh Majethia Ji.
The Tribune School conducted a special assembly to mark the birth anniversary of the Founder of The Tribune Trust Late Sardar Dyal Singh Majethia Ji.
The assembly began by paying homage to Sardar Dyal Singh Majethia Ji by Madam Principal. The students and teachers collectively shared the vision of Majethia Ji and his noble mission of providing a guiding light to so many youngsters through the medium of education. Mrs. Rani Poddar Principal shared the message of the President of The Tribune and encouraged students to spread good values to the world. The school atmosphere resonated with soft melodious motivational songs.
India’s 75th Republic Day
 
The Tribune School celebrated India’s 75th Republic Day with granduer and patriotic fervour. The programme began with a majestic march past. Tricolour was hoisted by the Principal , Mrs Rani Poddar followed by the national anthem. The students and teachers of the school showcased the feeling of patriotism by singing beautiful renditions. Listening to and singing patriotic songs, triggered in the children and teachers alike, many emotions; pride, love and respect for the country.
The atmosphere resonated with the echoes of joy and patriotism. The young sports achievers of the school were also felicitated on this occasion. The Principal shared her reflections on the significance of the day.🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳
Lohri Celebration
 
Lohri celebration at The Tribune School was a vibrant and joyous occasion. Students, teachers, and staff came together to mark this traditional Punjabi festival with enthusiasm and unity.
The highlight of the celebration was the bonfire, symbolizing the end of winter and the arrival of longer days. Students gathered around, singing traditional Lohri songs and performing the bhangra, infusing the atmosphere with energy and excitement. The aroma of popcorn, peanuts, and other traditional snacks filled the air as everyone enjoyed the warmth of the fire.
Mrs. Rani Poddar explained the significance of Lohri, emphasizing the cultural and agricultural aspects tied to the festival.
Overall, the Lohri celebration at our school was a delightful blend of cultural richness and communal joy, fostering a deeper appreciation for our diverse heritage among students.

Veer Bal Divas”

The Tribune School has celebrated “Veer Bal Divas” to pay homage to great valour and supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the younger sons of 10th Sikh Guru- Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. Several activities such as online quiz on my governmentportal , paiting competition, poem recitation and story telling were conducted in our school. Children of grade IV to IX were also shown movie Chaar Sahibzada to highlight the bravery of the younger sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. Students understood the significance of justice and truthfulness in true terms.

Magical Showcase of Talent
 
Kindergarten Delight Unveils a Magical Showcase of Talent at The Tribune School in Chandigarh celebrated a delightful annual function, “Kinder Delight,” on Saturday, December 23, 2023. The event, held at the school’s premises, showcased the remarkable talents of its kindergarten students in a mesmerizing program. Mrs.Chand Nehru ,Mrs. Komal Anand and Mrs. Anuradha Dua were the special guest on the occasion.
The festivities commenced with a warm Welcome Address, setting the stage for an enchanting evening. The ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp followed, symbolizing the enlightenment of young minds at The Tribune School.
Principal Mrs Rani Poddar shared insights and encouragement, emphasizing the school’s commitment to nurturing holistic development. The youngest stars of the school, Nursery A, captivated hearts with their rendition of The Welcome Song.
Motivational energy was infused into the event through interspersed Motivational Slogans, keeping the audience engaged and inspired throughout the program. Nursery B took the stage with the lively performance of Sing Kookabura Sing, adding a touch of joy to the evening.
LKG-A presented The Sunshine Song, radiating warmth and positivity, while UKG students showcased their talents with the dance drama Govardhandhari Krishna,a mesmerizing performance that left the audience spellbound.
LKG-B brought smiles with their heartwarming performance of It’s a World of Laughter, spreading joy and laughter among the attendees.
The festive spirit continued with a lively Medley – It’s Christmas Time, celebrating the joyous season. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, parents, and the school community for their unwavering support.
As a mark of unity and patriotism, the evening concluded with the melodious rendition of the National Anthem, fostering a sense of pride and camaraderie.
The Tribune School’s “Kinder Delight” was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of its kindergarten students. The event not only highlighted the educational excellence of the institution but also demonstrated the importance of fostering a nurturing environment for young learners.
Christmas Celebration
 
Students of Class 1 and 2 celebrated Christmas.
Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was a joyous and amusing activity for everyone where children made beautiful greeting cards and sang Christmas carols.
Annual School Fete
 
The Tribune School organised The Annual School Fete 2023-24 in the school premises on November 9, 2023 on the occasion of Children’s Day. A plethora of games and eatables stalls were put up by the teachers of the school. The Photo Booth and Tattoo Corner were both a hit among the students. Merry throngs of students enjoyed and danced their way to the lively tunes through the fete. The students and teachers alike, had a gala time at the fun event.
Children’s Day Celebration
 
“Every child is a different kind of flower that altogether make this world a beautiful garden.”
To celebrate the most incredible beings on this planet – children, Children’s Day was celebrated with great zeal at The Tribune School on November 8, 2023, through a Special Assembly by the teachers. The Principal, Mrs. Rani Poddar began the assembly with the recitation of teachers’ prayer for the students which was followed by the chanting of mantras. Teachers conveyed their special messages to the students, sharing their insights, wishes and blessings. Children dressed up as ‘Chacha Nehru’ shared details about his life and his contribution towards the city of Chandigarh. Musical Medley and colourful garba performance were the main highlights of the assembly.

Karwa Chauth Celebration

Karwa Chauth, the festival of love and bond was celebrated at The Tribune School with laughter and joy through Henna Activity organised by the counselling department. The girls of classes 7-10 applied henna on the hands of teachers growing the teacher-students bond stronger.The girls were also rewared for their creativity and efforts.

Halloween Day

Class 1 and 2 celebrated Halloween Day 🎃 on October 31,2023. This activity helped them in the development of feelings and building self-esteem. It helps the child learn how to work with others in society. They had party lunch, scary pumpkins were made by them nicely.It was a fun filled day.

Dussehra Celebration

To celebrate the festival of victory of good over evil is Dussehra, Children of class I and II made the effigy of Ravana. They made it beautifully and decorated the effigy of Ravana. They learnt about the significance of festival Dussehra.It enhanced their motor skills and the students were also learnt that one should always do good deeds.

Show and Tell

Class 1 and 2 did a wonderful activity of Show and Tell. Topic of the activity was “My favourite animal”. This activity was done for the development of their speech with vocabulary and articulation, and it also fostered them to be comfortable talking in front of their peers.

Quiz
 
“When you are challenged, you learn faster.”
Students of classes 1 and 2 participated in an exciting quiz. The excitement and the enthusiasm amongst the participants was palpable.
The principal,Mrs.Rani poddar awarded the winning teams and motivated them to participate in all activities with full enthusiasm.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

Ganesh Chaturthi festival was celebrated by the kindergarteners of The Tribune School. To mark the beginning of this festive mood, the story related to this festival was narrated to the children by the teachers. Children made Ganesha craft using paper cups, clay, paper folding etc. These activities enhanced their pincer movements and eye-hand coordination.

Janmashtami Celebration

To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, tiny tots of The Tribune School celebrated Janmashtami with mirth and joy. Children came dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha. Tiny tots made beautiful craft items like Krishna crowns , flutes and matkas. Children also posed for clicks with the well-decorated krishna jhoola. Children sang melodious bhajans, danced to the tunes of the flute. The day was a delightful divine journey for the children.

Celebrated the Independence Day

Moments of freedom in shades of joy. Children from preprimary wing of The Tribune School celebrated the Independence Day on 14th of August with full zeal and zest. The children were educated on the history and importance of freedom and independence in our country. Children did several different activities like tricolor handprint, coloring national flag, dot painting using ear buds to make National flag etc. Teachers also interacted with children discussing the importance of tricolor flag and how it should be respected.
