tGELF Report (2016-17)

tGELF is the global education and leadership foundation .The objective of this is searching for social, action-oriented leadership talent. The organization provides the students a platform to discover themselves.

The organization conducts many competitions for students at the regional and national levels. It is basically to identify leadership potential and honour today’s youth for their outstanding acts of community service.

Tribune Model School is the member of this organization.

The competitions in which our students participated are as follow:

The Youth Leader 2016:

Tarleen and Ishaan Anand, the youth leaders of our school took ‘Education’ as an issue to bring a change in our society in the field of education, especially quality education. The activities taken over by them were:

1.Extra classes in Science, Mathematics and Social Science

The youth leaders motivated their friends to take up this task wherein after school they would teach students for an hour twice a week i.e. on Wednesday and Friday. The classes enabled the tutors to gain more confidence and appreciate the service of each one teach many.
2.Home Library
These students developed home library at home and asked their friends to contribute books which could be given to those students who lack financial support to study further.
3.Special Assembly on Quality Education
The students of TYLC club performed a Nukkad Natak under the guidance of youth leaders in which they promoted proper utilization of time as well as resources.

Street Blenders:

Our street play team (Rahul, Sahil,Sunidhi, Kartik,Gulistan) prepared a Nukkad Natak on the topic ‘Corruption’ and got first position at regional level at Strawberry Fields School sector 26, Chandigarh. Then the participants performed at Scottish High International School, Gurgoan.

Chess and Debate:

Our school chess team (Sarika and Abhinav) and debate team (Dhanjot, Jaislin, Tarleen, yuvraj) also took part in the competition and received participation certificates.

Reel to Real The Motion Picture:

Sarabjot Singh, Anmolpreet Singh and Sumit of Grade X participated in 'Reel to Real' the motion picture competition and created a short film on the theme "What if...we make books our friends". The title of the film was "Emotions of a Book".
