2nd Tribune Trust Football Tournament from August 30, 2017 to Sept. 01, 2017
Tribune Model School, Chandigarh is organizing 2nd Tribune Trust Football Tournament to mark the Birth Anniversary of Legendary Hockey Player Major Dhyan Chand from August 30, 2017 to Sept. 01, 2017. On Day 1, Apart from the hosts - 10 different - different schools from Tricity participated in this championship. The Motto of this Tournament is "Free Playfields of Gender Inequality".
On the final day of the 2nd Tribune Trust Football Tournament the Boys Team of the Tribune Model School emerged as winners of the Tournament by defeating St. Joseph with 3 – 1. Ankush struck the first goal in 5 minutes of the game
followed by Harsh and Harshit, adding each to the tally.
The Girls Team of the St. Joseph bagged the first place in the tournament followed by Carmel Convent and Sacred Heart with a tie for the second place while the hosts reserved the third place in the tournament.
Mrs. Kiran Jagat, the wife of the honorable Trustee of the Tribune Trust was the Chief Guest for the occasion and awarded the winners with medals and certificates in addition to the winning trophies.
Morning Assembly by Students of Class Nursery A
Celebrating the month of Independence of our country India, the tiny tots of the Nursery presented the tricolour in a special way during their morning assembly.
The assembly commenced with a prayer "Bharat Mata Tumhe" followed by the song 'Orange, white and green we love you'. National symbols namely the National Animal, Flower, Bird, Fruit and the National Flag was also done during the assembly. Principal Mrs. Vandana Saxena appreciated the enthusiasm of Independence amongst the student.
Measles and Rubella Vaccination
A team of doctors from health department administer the Measles and Rubella vaccination to children at Tribune Model School, Chandigarh. A total of 380 students were vaccinated.
Music and Movement with Mom
The Kindergarten section of the Tribune Model school, Chandigarh organized a special Music and Movement session for the Kindergarteners and their mothers. The tiny tots, their mothers and the teachers built a beautiful bond through this musical session.
Together they sang, bounced, danced, did finger plays, played instruments and shared hugs and more in a fun and an informal way.
“These musical sessions are conducted in TMS as they contribute to a rich sensory environment for children and kick starts
learning in them at an early age.
Inter House Football Tournament
Vishwamitra House defeated Shankracharya House to win title on the concluding day of inter house football tournament held at Tribune Model School. Harshit and Harsh scored goal each for Vishwamitra House. In the semifinals, Vishwamitra House defeated Chanakya House, while Shankracharya House drubbed Dronacharya House.
Fun with Learning
An Assembly was conducted by students of Class I of Tribune Model School. Students started with the prayer followed by the story of an ant and the grasshopper. The story depicted the values of hard work and team work.
Guru Purnima Celebrated at TMS
Guru Purnima was celebrated at Tribune Model School. A session on " Better Mind Management for Better Learning" was conducted by Mr. Deepesh Kumar Gautam, a psycho-spiritual counselor and Founder President of Deva Eternal Yoga at Mohali. He provided information about various mudras to activate the nervous system of the students which will assist them in performing well in studies.
A workshop on “Basic Life Support System”
A workshop on “Basic Life Support System” was organized at the Fortis Hospital for the students of the Tribune Model School, Chandigarh by the Rotary Club, Mohali on July 5th, 2017. The workshop educated the students about the Basic First Aid that can be performed during a Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack or Choking. A total of Sixty Nine students with four teachers attended the workshop.
Another event of importance which took place during the workshop was the Installation of the new President Kartik Tiwari, Secretary Anish Chaudhary, his cabinet and rest of the members of the Interact Club of Tribune Model School by Rth. Harvinder Singh, new President of Rotary Club Mohali and Secretary Rth. Sandeep Dev. The Earlier President, Mr. Sukhpreet Singh Giani also graced the occasion with his presence.
Remarkable Performance By TMS Students in C.B.S.E. Class X Board Exams held during the month of March-April 2017
Four students of Tribune Model School, Sector - 29 - D, got 10 CGPA in CBSE Class X exams held this year. As many as 52 students had appeared for the examination.
Out of which 20 students scored more than 09 CGPA but less than 10 CGPA. 13 students scored more than 08 CGPA but less than 09 CGPA.
09 students scored more than 07 CGPA but less than 08 CGPA. 06 students scored more than 06 CGPA but less than 07 CGPA.
All the students passed with the Flying Colors....!
The English Literary Week - 15th May to 20th May 2017
Tribune Model School celebrated the English Literary week starting from 15th May to 20th May 2017 with the word wizard and renowned Story Teller Deeptha Vivekanand. The students of class X indulged in exploring the depths of the art of storytelling with the enigmatic Deeptha.
The students were divided into groups of four for the whole duration and they were provided with folktales from different parts of India. The stories were recrafted by the students, ranging from the story of the creation of the world to the construction of the first house. Exploring these stories from the past, the students remade these stories to connect them to the present times and situations. The results were thought provoking. They were facilitated by the teachers from English department.
The final day saw the delightful and captivating one hour performance with the total of ten stories each group exhibiting one. The session concluded with the inspiring words of our respected Principal Ma’am.
Splash Pool and a Lemonade week for the Kindergarten Section
To beat the scorching heat this summer a week long ‘Splash Pool and a Lemonade Week’ begins at the Kindergarten Section of Tribune Model school wherein, the children would have fun in water.
The concept of ‘Conservation of water’ after their use was talked about with the children, and they playfully collected the water to water the plants.
Investiture and Award Ceremony 2017
Tribune Model School held the investiture ceremony on 12th of May with great enthusiasm. This ceremony marked a significant beginning of the new academic year. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. The students were felicitated with Scholarships for academics, sports, music and art. Dr. Joseph Emmanuel, the Regional Officer C.B.S.E. ,Panchkula, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in activities like these. The Principal, Ms. Vandana Saxena, congratulated the newly elected council members and stressed on the significance of setting priorities and the need to be great communicators. The ceremony ended with a motivational song ‘We can make a difference..’ sung by the school choir.

An Inter-School MINNO SAMBHI POWER POINT PRESENTATION CONTEST, on ‘PREVENTION OF THALASSEMIA’ was organised by the Blood Bank Society as a part of ongoing school programme, “We The Future Donors”.
The objective of this contest was to educate the students about this dreaded, PREVENTABLE disorder, and encourage them to spread awareness about it in their community, thus helping eradicate Thalassemia from our country.
47 schools participated in this contest.TMS students won the 2nd Prize in this contest.
The Art Department of Tribune Model School organised a one day Art Workshop for the students of class VII and VIII on May 02, 2017. Ms. Deepshikha Goyal, an artist and curator was the resource person who shared her expertise in Marble painting.Students gave a marble effect on canvas which was a new and an interesting technique for them. The resource person appreciative of the creative energy around, gave inputs into each artists work to help express their own imagination.
Inspired by the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ launched by our Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the students of classes VIII and IX of Tribune Model School also took the Swachh campaign beyond their classrooms and school. On April 29, 2017, the students took the initiative to clean the campus of Tribune Colony. They enthusiastically picked up the garbage lying on the roads and asked the colony residents to ensure that the vicinity around their residences is kept clean.
This entire campaign was to sensitize the students as well as the common people about the need of cleanliness to Save the Earth.
Earth Day Celebrations
The Green Club of Tribune Model School organized an Inter House Card making competition for students from Classes IV-VIII to awaken children to the need of being environmentally responsible.
In category A ( Classes IV &V) Mayank was adjudged the best entry while Category B (Classes VI-VIII) Yashkaran’s art work & the message ‘Grow more trees to save earth’ walked with the first prize.
